After the New Leader Essentials Training, you're well on your way! Your next step is to receive the training specific to the position you hold. This is a four hour course for Cubmasters, Asst. Cubmasters and Den Leaders that will teach you the basics you'll need to be a successful leader. The Position Specific Training should be taken any time you change your position of responsibility. New Leader Essentials
All Committee members, Cubmasters and Den Leaders
Held twice a year at the monthly Roundtables in Spring and Fall. Training is held at Rocklin Stake Center of the LDS Church, 2610 Sierra Meadows Dr., Rocklin, CA. New Leader Essentials is an introductory session that highlights the values, aims, history, funding and methods of Scouting. It addresses how these aims and methods are reached at an age-appropriate style within Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting Varsity Scouting and Venturing. Videos, discussions, and hands-on reinforcement are presented during the 90 minute training session. Presented by Sierra Gateway/Ironhorse District Training Team.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Cub Scouting. Our eager and energetic boys will be looking to you for fun, adventure, and leadership. Have no fear, there is plenty of training and resources available to make you a great success! A very important part of the success of Pack 185 is making sure that the leaders and parents are trained and understanding the program that the Boy Scouts of America offers us. Training will make your sons adventure that much better.

Basic Leader Training
Cubmasters and Asst. Cubmasters. Highly recommended.
Held in the Spring. Both sessions are required. The Wood Badge course is a supplemental training program for Adult Leaders in the BSA. It is intended to increase leadership skills for Leaders in all parts of the Scouting program. It has been developed for Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity Scout and Venturing Leaders, as well as council and district leaders. Its focus is on leadership, not out-of-door skills. Dates TBA but will be in April/May 2008, Camp Lassen, CA. Presented by Golden Empire Council's Woodbadge Training Team.
Outdoor Leader Skills
Cubmasters, Asst. Cubmasters, Webelos Leaders
Held in the Spring and Fall every year at Penryn Park, 3211 Boulder Creek Place Penryn 95663. This is the second part of the Basic Leader Training. Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills is a hands-on program that gives adult leaders the practical skills to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. The skills taught will introduce the participants to the basic scout outdoor skills. Presented by Sierra Gateway District Training Team.
The Boy Scouts of America requires that any aquatics activity be conducted in a safe manner. The first step in doing this is well trained leadership. If this is the first time you are taking this training, the Council Training Committee encourages you to attend an instructor led session to allow for discussion and questions. Online Training.
Baloo (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation)

Held in Spring every year. For the Cub Scout Leader with the desire to plan and carry out an outdoor experience for the pack, and for anyone who wants to understand the focus of the Cub Scout level of the BSA Outdoor Program. Some of the benefits of BALOO training include:
Acquire the skills and confidence necessary to plan and carry out a successful Cub Scout-level overnight activity.

Monthly Roundtable
All Leaders
District Roundtable is the monthly training meeting. Groups of Cub Scout leaders meet every month to discuss ideas, share new resources, and solve problems. Get in on the fun and learning. There are announcements, programs, and break-outs for Cub Scout Leaders. We meet the third Thursday of every month at 7:30 pm at the Rocklin Stake Center of the LDS Church (Room 15), 2610 Sierra Meadows Dr. Rocklin, CA.
POWWOW Training

Held in January every year. This is the premiere event for Cub Scout leaders.
